Message From Safeco – Payment Issues – Covid-19

As we look to support our, customers and communities during the evolving COVID-19 situation, I want to share this update with you.

We are steadfast in our commitment to our customers during this uncertain time, and especially those directly impacted by COVID-19. We are prepared to waive late fees for any customer who is unable to make a payment on time due to COVID-19.

  • Our billing customer service representatives will have the authority to adjust the customer’s current bill and to waive any late fees your customer incurs after March 1, 2020.
  • If your employment or business has been impacted due to COVID-19 and you’re having trouble making a payment, please contact Safeco Insurance at 877-566-6001 or the Liberty Mutual Business Insurance Service Center at 866-290-2920.

Nationwide 60 Day Payment hold – Covid-19

For Nationwide customers only. If you are currently impacted by the Covid-19 virus, and having trouble make a payment this month, Nationwide will put a 60 day hold on your payment status. The payment will be due at the end of the 60 day hold period.  No cancellation notices would be sent out during the hold period.  Please call Nationwide customer service, 800-282-1446,  to request a hold on your payment.

SmartRide For Nationwide Customers!

SmartRide is a way you can save up to 40% on your auto insurance premium.  Using a plug-in device or your smartphone Nationwide monitors your driving for about three months.  It’s similar to Progressive’s Snapshot program.  There is a 10% participation discount. After you’ve completed the program your full discount will be applied.  At that time you will no longer need to use the device or app, and you will retain the earned discount for as long as you own the policy.  For more information click on this link: SmartRide

Nationwide Policy Number Changes

Nationwide is currently moving all of their business to a new computer platform.  They are combing all of their business, their captive agents and independent agents, like American Midwest Agency, Inc., to the same platform.  You will receive a notice that a new program is available.  Their new program does not necessarily have have lower rates, but in some situations it does.  For the most part, you will not notice any changes to your policies, except your policy numbers will change.  If you would like a quote in Nationwide’s new program, or have any questions, please feel free to call 612-216-4236.
